About Brave Gods
Brave Gods doesn’t really have a purpose; it’s just a collection of words that sound kind of cool. The site sounds cool, right? RIGHT?
Brave Gods is the thoughts and musings of Ken Mooney.
Well I used to run a website called BurnAllZombies.com and even though it doesn’t exist any more, it was pretty successful for what it was. Like many things, it was big in the naughties. We reviewed things (movies, video games and that sort of thing.) We brought you Microsfoft’s Kinect, reviews of Watchmen, The Dark Knight and Uncharted 2: Among Thieves amongst many, many others; I also did a few opinion pieces on comics and writing and talked all about my feels over the final season of LOST.
That’s right; big in the naughties.
BurnAllZombies came to a very natural end in 2011 for a number of reasons; I just didn’t have the time to keep it up to date, not in the way that I wanted it to be. Especially not when I got a job in the advertising media and, to be honest, wanted to avoid a conflict of interests. Turns out, four years later I don’t work in the same company any longer, and there probably wouldn’t have been a conflict of interests even if I’d continued.
Instead, I wrote some books; my first novel Godhead was released in 2013, my non-fiction book The Little Book Of The End Of The World was 2014, and the second novel is close-to-publication in 2015, having gotten some delays after a dalliance with cancer (it was a brain tumour in the language centre of my brain. The irony isn’t lost on me.)
So Brave Gods is sort of a BurnAllZombies2.0, a creative centre through the lens of having working in TV advertising, having written and published a couple of books, having lived through a couple of crises and deciding that I enjoyed it back in the day.
